Work Experience is an integral part your course requirements that will enhance your learner opportunities.
What is Work Experience?? These are experiences that allow you to build knowledge and skills around a certain career path or profession. It's a bit like testing the water before diving in. Having work experience can provide you with insights into a career and can give you the edge when securing a job. There are lots of ways to gain work experience, including internships, work placements, volunteering or participating in activities such as tours of industry, going to industry led workshops, careers events, C.V. workshops, all tailored to your specific area of study.
Why should I gain Work Experience?? Well the answer is simple, with work experience on your CV, in a highly competitive job market, you will stand out from the crowd. Some organisations and businesses encourage, and even require work experience before they hire.
Please discuss any work placements you wish to undertake with your Lecturer in the first instance.
