The Skills Development Scotland meta-skills progression framework has been developed in collaboration with partners and practitioners from across Scotland and aims to help with identifying and understanding what meta-skills are.

They include:

Self-management - focusing; integrity; adapting and initiative
Social intelligence - communicating; feeling; collaborating and leading
Innovation - curiosity; creativity; sense-making and critical thinking

Two toolkits have been created:

SDS Meta-skills Development Tool - a resource provided by SDS giving opportunities for you to self-evaluate how you perceive the development of your meta-skills and supports you to reflect on what you have done and help to identify areas to focus on next.

SDS Meta-skills Toolkit (for educators) - this toolkit is aimed at educators, however, you may find it useful to understand what meta-skills are and how you can use them.
