Logging In and Passwords Explained
To help you to complete your college course work and communicate with college staff and class mates you will be given a Microsoft Office 365 account. This will allow you access to a college email account, Teams, and an Online version of Word, Excel etc.
A text giving you information about your account will be sent to you before you start college.
When you login to your Office 365 account for the first time use the following details:
Username Student reference email@example.com Eg firstname.lastname@example.org. ( your reference number will always be an 8 digit number which will be on the majority of correspondence you receive from the College.)
Password 12 digit password. Before you start college you should receive a text from the college giving you information about your Office 365 account and a 12 digit password to login into Office 365 for the first time.
Once you have logged in, you will be prompted to change your password. Your new password will also need to be at least 12 digits that includes numbers, upercase and lower case letters and a symbol EG JingoART2022! Try to make this something that is relevant to you that you can remember, but do not include any part of your name.
When you login for the first time you may also be prompted to set security questions for password resets in the future. It's a good idea to complete this process as it could potentially save you time and hassle in the future.
If you are having problems with any of this, please don't worry, staff will always be on hand to help and support.
At the start of term, time will be set aside to explain this whole process to you and you will be given the opportunity to ask any questions you may have plus resolves any problems.

Learning Centre staff can reset passwords and resolve basic I.T. issues. They will also raise an I.T. request on your behalf if the issue cannot be resolved. Your lecturer can also contact I.T. for you.
