Did you know that the term BAME is now not used to refer to minority people in the UK? BAME or BME was found to be unhelpful as this can disguise huge differences in outcomes between ethnic groups. Hence, since December 2021, with Guidance from Government, the term “minorities” is now the correct term. While “ minorities” is generally perceived to mean “non-white” or anyone of a different colour, origin, or culture, it includes white minorities, such as Gypsy, Roma and Irish Traveller groups.
